The number of unemployed people registered in the offices of the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) at the end of September, increased by 17,679 people (+0.6%) in relation to the previous month, the Spanish government said in a press release.

In year-on-year terms, compared to September 2021, unemployment decreased by 315,883 people (-9.70%) in the past 12 months.

The total number of contracts registered during the month of September was 1,660,792. Of this total, 775,856 were permanent contracts (46.72% of the total). This represents an increase of 559,168 (+258%) over the same month of the previous year.

More stability
