With the arrival of 2020, the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) has begun charging its clients 50 euros for unused appointments.

On Tuesday, 7 January, the Finnish Immigration Service announced that this new fee is already in force in its Customer Bulletin. The note also informs about the opening hours of its service points in different cities.

According to the release, the service points of the Finnish Immigration Service are open as follows:

  • Helsinki: on all weekdays
  • Kuopio, Lappeenranta, Oulu, Raisio, Tampere and Vaasa: on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
  • Lahti and Rovaniemi: on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The service point in Lahti is exceptionally open also on 3 January, 10 January and 17 January.

All service points are closed on mid-week holidays.

Cancel appointments online or via email

Migri reminds its customers that they can book an appointment online to handle their issues via the electronic appointment system HERE

The Immigration agency encourages those who cannot attend a booked appointment to cancel it, either at the appointment system or by sending an email to [email protected]

Those who have booked an appointment but are not there at the assigned time, will be charged a fee of 50 euros.

Migri started charging 50 euros for unused appointments
