Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has complained about the wait for large armaments from the West, saying his country still had to ask for support and equipment, and was always told that it has to wait.

"They are telling us that we need to wait in the situation when we are losing hundreds of people on a daily basis because of the Russian attacks, when dozens of our cities have been destroyed," Zelensky said in a video address to the Finnish parliament, noting that Finland had been quick in sending defence equipment to his country.

Zelensky once again called for the cutting of all economic ties with Russia.

He said that "freedom will not survive if we leave channels that will be fed by these sources of income. We share this common value. The war is equally evil for everyone."

The Ukrainian President has strongly condemned a missile attack on the train station in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk.

'An ordinary train station'

The Russian military attacked an ordinary train station, Zelensky said on Friday as he began his video address to the Finnish parliament.

People had been waiting to be evacuated, he said.

"This is just an ordinary train station, just an ordinary town in eastern Ukraine," he said.

He said the attack showed what Russia meant by protecting the Donbass region and its Russian-speaking population. "This is the 44th day of our reality," Zelensky said.
