Sweden's Queen Silvia has cancelled a trip to see the World Expo in Dubai due to a cold.

The queen, 77, does not have Covid-19, a test showed, but has opted against travelling due to respect for other participants, a spokesperson for the royal family said.

Her husband King Carl XVI Gustaf, 75, was due to visit the Expo as originally planned, from Tuesday to Thursday.

The two were originally due to travel to the Expo together with a Swedish delegation.

Sweden's focus is on innovation and sustainability in its Expo pavilion.
