US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, however, said his country is working with Poland so the Polish side can provide Ukrainians with planes they are familiar with and receive US aircraft in return

Poland has again denied media reports that it plans to provide Ukraine with Soviet-designed fighter jets and receive aircraft from the United States in return.

"Poland won't send its fighter jets to Ukraine nor allow it to use its airports," the Polish government said on Twitter. "We significantly help in many other areas."

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, however, said his country is working with Poland so the Polish side can provide Ukrainians with planes they are familiar with and receive US aircraft in return.

"We also want to see if we can be helpful, as I said, in making sure that whatever they provide to the Ukrainians, something goes to them to make up for any gap in the security for Poland that might result," he told CNN.

A spokesperson for the government in Warsaw said that the talks were still ongoing, but that no decision had been made yet.
