Low-cost British airline Easyjet started a new direct flight route from Manchester to Rovaniemi on Thursday 22 November.
Flights will be operated twice a week between both cities, informed the tourist board of the Rovaniemi region in Lapland (Visit Rovaniemi).
"Opening this route now is concrete step forward with the British market, which has been having little challenges this past Autumn, since we got these sad bankruptcy news from Thomas Cook. This route will bring more accessibility to Rovaniemi in the hottest time of the year in travel. The British market is still one of our most essential foundations what it comes to winter seasons and not only for Rovaniemi, but to all Lapland," says, Sanna Kärkkäinen, managing director of Visit Rovaniemi.
The low-cost airline Easyjet operates already directly from London, Gatwick to Rovaniemi twice a week, so in total, Easyjet will fly now four times a week between England and Lapland.
