The wounded man had to be transferred to the 12 de Octubre Hospital in Madrid with a very serious prognosis after suffering a heart condition.
The preliminary investigation, carried out by the National Police, indicates that the event is the result of another clash between rival street gangs.
The wounded man could have been attacked by members of a rival group, as happened a week ago when a young Spanish national died after being stabbed in the Villaverde district.
'Scene full of cameras'
"Three or four boys with Latino looks have come and one of them has stabbed him in the chest and then they have escaped. They were half hooded. Everything is full of cameras that have recorded it," said the worker of one of the stores, as reported by the newspaper El Mundo.
But officially, the motive for the attack is still unknown.
According to El Mundo, the young man stabbed to death in Villaverde last week was a member of the Dominican Don't Play (DDP) gang and his aggressors belonged to the Trinitarios gang. The deceased young man was being investigated for another attack suffered by a minor in Madrid.
