Woman killed on film set by prop gun fired by Alec Baldwin

No charges have been filed, police said

A woman was killed in an accidental shooting on the set of the movie 'Rust' in Santa Fe, New Mexico, police said Thursday.

The film's director of photography Halyna Hutchins, 42, and director Joel Souza, 48, were shot when a prop firearm was discharged by actor Alec Baldwin, 68, on the set at Bonanza Creek Ranch, according to the sheriff's office statement.

Hutchins was transported to a hospital by helicopter and pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Souza was taken by ambulance to another medical centre and is undergoing treatment for his injuries.

No charges have been filed, police said.

The incident is being investigated and witnesses will be interviewed by detectives.

Baldwin is a producer and actor in the film.
