Around 2,000 people have been arrested in cities across Russia amid renewed demonstrations against the invasion of Ukraine, according to civil rights activists.
More than 200 people were taken into custody on Sunday in both the city of Yekaterinburg in the Urals and the Siberian city of Novosibirsk, the Russian human rights organization OWD-Info announced on Telegram.

The Russian authorities have not authorized the rallies and have repeatedly cracked down on those protesting against the ongoing invasion.
