Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been fined 50,000 euros (61,000 dollars) for holding a financial stake in a betting company in breach of UEFA rules, the European football governing body said Wednesday.

The 39-year-old attacker was also ordered to give up his interest in the firm, previously reported by the Aftonbladet paper as being the Malta-based Bethard.

His club AC Milan were fined 25,000 euros for their player's infringement of the regulations.

Ibrahimovic returned to the Sweden side after retiring from international football in 2016 but has been ruled out of Euro 2020 with injury.
