Traffic accidents claimed 9 lives on Finnish roads in February

Among those who died, 7 were men and 2 were women.

In February, 134 accidents resulting in personal injury occurred in Finnish roads, according to the the latest data released by Statistics Finland. In them, 9 people were killed and 160 injured.

The number of persons killed was eight lower and that of persons injured 124 lower than in February 2020.

Of the persons who were killed, 5 travelled by passenger car, 2 by van and 1 by lorry. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered 1. Among those who died, 7 were men and 2 were women.

January-February

A total of 348 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to February period. In them, 23 persons were killed and 417 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 11 lower and that of persons injured 252 lower than in the corresponding period of 2020.

Of the persons who were killed, 16 travelled by passenger car, 4 by van and 1 by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered 1 and cyclists 1.
