Slovenian foreign minister to visit Finland

In his meeting with Pekka Haavisto they will discuss Slovenia's upcoming Presidency of the European Union.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto will meet Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anže Logar in Helsinki on Thursday 14 January.

The Ministers will exchange views on the regional situation and EU enlargement in the Western Balkans, transatlantic relations and other topical international questions.

They will also discuss Slovenia's upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Slovenia and Germany together with Portugal, which is the current Presidency of the Council of the EU, form the trio Presidency. Slovenia’s EU Presidency will begin on 1 July 2021.

During his visit to Finland, Slovenia's Minister of Foreign Affairs will also have a meeting with President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö and Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Tytti Tuppurainen
