Prime Minister Rinne to Sweden

Prime Minister Antti Rinne will make his second visit to Sweden on Tuesday 18 June.

The Finnish Prime Minister, Antti Rinne, will meet with the Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven in Stockholm on Tuesday 18 June, informed today the Government Communications Department.

Both Prime Ministers will discuss bilateral relations and cooperation in areas such as defense and the green economy. As a special topic in the discussions, the protection of the Baltic Sea emerges. Regional issues include Nordic co-operation and Arctic issues, as well as transatlantic relations and issues related to NATO-Finland partnerships.

At their meeting, the Prime Ministers deal extensively with EU issues on the climate in the EU's multiannual financial framework. High-level EU appointments are also topical issues for the European Council this week. Both Prime Ministers will attend the European Council.

Finland's EU Presidency will begin on 1 July.
