Police searching for suspect of attempted homicide in Helsinki

The information collected so far by the investigators suggests that he could be the person who fired the shots on September 30 in a private residence in Vuosaari against another man, who suffered serious injuries.

The police published today the name and identity of a Finnish man who is wanted for being suspected of an attempted homicide.

According to a press release published by Helsinki Police Department, the suspect's name is Aarni Oskari Elias Ahjolinna. The information collected so far by the investigators suggests that he may be the person who fired the shots on September 30 at a private residence in Vuosaari against another man, who suffered serious injuries.

Police were notified of a suspected crime at about 17:00 that day and the victim suffered life-threatening injuries.

Chief Investigator Kirsi Kanth from the Helsinki Police Department explained they exceptionally decided to publish the name and picture of the author as "this is essential for capturing Ahjolinna", who is running away from the police.
