Primary production decreased by 6% from the year before

Adjusted for working days, overall industrial output went up by 1.7% in January 2020 from one year back.

According to Statistics Finland, industrial output adjusted for working days went up by 1.7% in January 2020 from one year back.

In January, seasonally adjusted output, in turn, grew by 0.9% cent from the month before. According to revised data, working day adjusted output in December increased 2019 by 0.6% (was 0.5) from December 2018.

Working day adjusted primary production decreased by around 6% from the year before. Secondary production grew by about 2% and services around 2% from January 2019.

Primary production refers to agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing. Secondary production includes manufacturing and construction.

Services comprise trade, hotel and restaurant activities, transport and business activities, as well as real estate, renting and research services, financial intermediation and insurance, and public services.
