National economy output falls for ninth consecutive month

Working day adjusted primary production (agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing) decreased by around 4%.

The output of the Finnish economy fell again in October. With this decline, the production adds 9 consecutive months of year-on-year falls.

Adjusted for working days, output fell by 1.9% in October 2020 from one year back. In monthly terms, seasonally adjusted production registered a slight growth (0.2%) compared with September.

Agriculture and manufacturing

Working day adjusted primary production (agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing) decreased by around 4%.

Secondary production (includes manufacturing and construction) decreased by about 1% and services by around 2% from October 2019.

Services comprise trade, hotel and restaurant activities, transport and business activities, as well as real estate, renting and research services, financial intermediation and insurance, and public services.
