Finland's industrial output fell in April

Production fell most in the chemical, forest and metal industries.

Seasonally adjusted industrial output fell by 2.2% in April from the month before amid the coronavirus crisis.

According to Statistics Finland, industrial output adjusted for working days was 3.1% lower in April 2020 than twelve months earlier. During January to April, working day adjusted output went down by 0.8% from the year before.

By industry

Examined by main industry, seasonally adjusted industrial output remained on level with the previous month only in the industry of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.

In other manufacturing industries output declined compared with the previous month. Output fell most in the chemical industry, 6.8%, in the forest industry, 2.9% and the metal industry, 2.2% from the previous month.
