Six songs for Finns to dream of winning Eurovision again

Finns get excited with the Eurovision contest, but their enthusiasm usually ends up in disappointment. Check in this article the six songs competing to represent Finland in 2020. The winner will be chosen next month.

There is nothing more Finnish, at the musical level, than getting excited to win Eurovision and then be disappointed by the bad result

Finland is one of the countries with the greatest tradition in Eurovision, although it won only once, when the band Lordi surprised everyone with its song 'Hard Rock Hallelujah', its monster costumes and a spectacular visual show.

This year, again, Finland dreams of winning Eurovision and the excitement, again, has started since Finland has released its six competing songs for this year. The winner will be announced next month in the UMK (Contest for New Music in Finnish) and will participate at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam.

These are the competing songs for this year

'I Let My Heart Break' by Tika

Tika was the winner of the Finnish ‘Factor X’ in 2018. She has said  that this song is inspired by its idols, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion.

'Cicciolina' by Erika Vikman

A energetic retro disco, with ironic lyrics. It follows the footsteps of Finnish singer Kikka, known by her erotic songs in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

'Looking Back' by Aksel Kankaanranta

The artist was part of the Finnish ‘The voice’ program in 2017 and has released a sensitive song about the world's tiredness, insufficiency and love.

'Bananas' by F3M

The Finnish Spice Girls present a catchy and inspiring pop dance song with a very personal touch.

'Lover View' by Sansa

A famous artist that brings a different touch to the pre-selection. After a stage in the indie folk, Sansa wanted to work with the electronic or even timeless pop.

'Eternity' by Catharina Zühlke

She came fifth in Finnish Idols in 2013 and second in the Contest for New Music (UMK) in 2017. her song talks about the power of love.
