Brexit negotiations continue: make sure you have registered your right of residence

The proposed special act and the extended right of residence guaranteed by it after Brexit will only apply to those who have registered their right of residence

The United Kingdom has decided to ask for an extension to Brexit. The Finnish Immigration Service says that will give instructions to the British citizens living in Finland "as soon as any new decisions are made".

"The most important step at the moment is to make sure that you have registered your right of residence in Finland", wrote Migri in its customer bulletin.

This is essential, because the proposed special act and the extended right of residence guaranteed by it after Brexit would only apply to those who have registered their right of residence before the final withdrawal date.
