12 dead and 367 injured on Finnish roads in November

Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered 3 and cyclists 2.

Personal injuries caused by road traffic accidents increased in November compared to the same month last year.

According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 301 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in November. In them, 12 people were killed and 367 injured.

The number of people killed was 4 higher and that of persons injured 26 higher than in November 2019.

Of the persons who were killed, 5 travelled by passenger car and 2 by motorcycle. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered 3 and cyclists 2. Among those who died, 10 were men and two were women.

January-November

So far this year, January-November, a total of 3,322 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to November period. In them, 196 persons were killed and 4,068 persons injured.

The number of persons killed was 2 higher and that of persons injured 497 lower than in the corresponding period of 2019.

Of the persons who were killed, 114 travelled by passenger car, 9 by van, 2 by moped, 18 by motorcycle and two by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered 20 and cyclists 23. In addition, eight other road users were killed.
